We recently discovered a great place to ride ATVs right here in the Dayton, Ohio metro area: Thrashing Trails in Xenia, Ohio (937-985-7380)
Thrashing Trails is unique, not only because it is close to home, but because it is much more family-oriented than most riding trail venues. The riding area is private property, and riding is by invitation only. Alcohol, unsafe behavior, and loud exhausts are prohibited. If someone breaks these rules, then they are asked to leave. They also offer some nice amenities, including outdoor restroom facilities, picnic tables, shade canopies, and a power washer. And the riding is great too. They have 130+ acres of scenic wooded trails, including rolling terrain, mud bogs, and hills. There are many areas that the entire family can enjoy riding as well as some more difficult areas that even experienced riders will enjoy tackling. Their property also includes a flat track (great for test and tune) and a pond. And in order to preserve the trail quality, the trails are regularly maintained and re-routed as necessary. And new upgrades are being added as time and weather permit. Not just anyone can show up and ride at Thrashing Trails. It is private property, and the property owners are serious about maintaining a safe clean environment and respecting the rights and concerns of the neighbors. Riding is by invitation only, and a donation of $15 for adults ($20 for Jeeps, buggies, and sandrails) and $5 for kids (13 and under) is requested. Invited riders are free to ride during daylight hours on Saturdays, and Sundays - typically 9am to 9pm during the summer and 9am to 6pm during the winter. Their monthly riding schedule (always subject to weather and trail conditions) is:
To request an invitation, check trail conditions, verify riding/holiday schedules, or for more information, please contact Dan at 937-985-7380. You MUST call for an invitation each time that you ride. |
